DONATED ITEMS
Somebody Cares is very proud to participate in the circular economy. By accepting donations from the general public and business community we are able to either pass on to our clients or resell in one of our retail services or office furniture divisions.
Whatever the destination, by donating to Somebody Cares donators help those in need, prevent items going to landfill and help us to protect our environment.
If you are considering donating goods to Somebody Cares, we ask you to firstly consider if it is something you would be happy to use yourself. If the answer is yes, we would love to see you at one of our donation hubs.
Donation Hubs
We have three donations’ hubs in
- Hazelhead - West
- Tullos - South
- Bridge of Don - North
We are delighted to receive good quality donations at any of these venues.

Guidelines for Donations
Whilst we could not do what we do without donations we must ensure they are safe and fit for purpose as the charity needs to pay to dispose of unsuitable items, which reduces the funds we can use to help those who need us.
Things to bear in mind…
- All soft furnishings need to have the fire labels attached, be free of rips, stains, pet scratches and come from smoke free home.
- Furniture must remain assembled with all parts firmly attached.
- Electrical items need to be in good clean, working order.
- Kitchen equipment and bric-a-brac should be free of chips, cracks, or scratch marks.
- Bedding and curtains need to be clean, stain free and not faded.
- Clothing needs to be cleant, have pockets emptied and be in good wearable condition without rips or stains.
- Toys should be clean, unbroken with all parts included, this applies to games and jigsaws too.

For larger items we offer a free furniture collection service, the same guidelines apply. If you would like to discuss a furniture collection, please email us and where possible provide photographs.

Working from our base in Tullos the Emergency Response opens as demand dictate. Announcements are made on Facebook looking for specific donations and short-term volunteers to assist us for this fast turnaround service.
